Creative Expression

My life has been blessed with the gifts of creative expression and the communication of beauty. Beginning with the eighth grade graduation pamphlet where I did illustrations, through visual merchandising and window displays in Chicago and New York City where I strived for innovative methods of displaying ordinary clothes. Window displays blossomed into the Jamie P line of scarves where I developed unusual techniques for painting on suede and block printing images onto silk. New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology is where I learned how to design and make accessories including shoes, handbags and millinery. I also discovered The Art of Draping. It is an integral part of shoe design and would later become the design process upon which my company, Pesavento Couture specialized in. After graduation I moved to Paris where, in the atelier of Louis Feruaud, I begin focusing on fashion design and development. The design rooms of Enrico Coveri in Florence further developed and honed my skills in drawing and illustration. 50 plus years since my grammar school graduation pamphlet, there is a new form of my creative expression, Haute Couture Fashion Collage Illustrations. Coming full circle, the illustrations will be presented for the first time in Milan during fashion week. They are examples of all the varied ways of communicating fashion, beauty, and art that the universe has blessed my path with. Namaste
